Dr. Tiffany Matej Hrkalovic successfully defends PhD on Partner Selection and Hybrid Intelligence

On May 13, Tiffany Matej Hrkalovic successfully defended her PhD thesis titled “Understanding Partner Selection for Cooperation – Towards Supportive Hybrid Intelligence for Joint Undertakings.”

Her thesis examines partner selection processes, person perception, and task-related factors that influence cooperative behavior. It explores how people choose partners based on traits such as warmth and competence, and how task-related factors shape these preferences. It introduces PARSEL, a multi-modal dataset capturing partner selection and person perception during informal online interactions, and presents a tool to measure relationship interdependence and its impact on prosocial behavior, relationship outcomes, and responses to norm violations.

We congratulate Tiffany on this achievement and all who contributed to her research.
