Michiel van der Meer
I am a PhD student at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) at Leiden University, supervised by prof. dr. Catholijn Jonker (TUD/LU), prof. dr. Piek Vossen (VU), dr. Pradeep Murukannaiah (TUD) and prof. dr. Aske Plaat (LU). I am interested in finding underlying perspectives in debates and (mass) deliberations, with the idea that we can help people to understand why others have a different opinion. To this end, I am using state-of-the-art NLP methods to analyze the ongoing discourse, and aim to create artificial agents to support human deliberation participants.
